Originally of Carniolan stock, our queens are northern-bred hybrids open mated here at the Little Wren Farm apiary from lines selected for traits including overwintering success, health, gentleness, and honey production. Prior to sale, our queens are mated and proven – demonstrating a good pattern of worker brood over a minimum of two weeks. Unless otherwise stated in our correspondence with you, our queens are first-year queens, mated in the year of sale. Each is marked with the standard color of the year (in 2024, this is green).

This items is only available for curbside pick-up at Little Wren Farm. After your order is confirmed, you will receive an email from Little Wren Farm to coordinate pick-up date and time.

People are often fascinated to discover the distinct differences and that they have a strong preference for a certain type of honey. Included in each seasonal sampler are three, 5-ounce jars of honey (a spring, summer and fall honey), a small beeswax candle, and a card with some suggestions for exploring your sampler. Little Wren Farm's soothing, all-natural lip balm made with our own natural beeswax from our apiary and organic ingredients. And it gets better!  There is no plastic involved in this little package ~ just biodegradable materials so you don't have to worry about where this thing ends up when you're done with it. When ordering, choose Peppermint or Orange Blossom. Ingredients: Beeswax, jojoba oil*, sweet almond oil*, coconut oil*, raw shea butter* and orange or peppermint oil (*organic).

8 oz Muth jar filled with Little Wren Farm raw honey
Raw Honey in Muth Jar – 8 oz
Little Wren Farm's raw honey bottled in an 8-ounce, old-fashioned glass Muth jar and sealed with a cork and our own natural beeswax.  These embossed jars make a wonderful gift and are a reproduction of the first jar used specifically for honey and popularized by Charles Muth in the 1800’s. The 8-ounce Muth jar is the middle of the three in the photograph and is approximately 5.5" tall.  (The other two Muth jars in the photo are our 16 oz. and 4 oz. Muth jars, and they are approximately 7" and 4.5" inches tall.) All of our honey is produced by the honey bees at the Little Wren Farm apiary in western Massachusetts. To preserve the honey’s natural flavor and qualities, our honey has never been heated above temperatures naturally found in the hive and our honey is not filtered.
