Description
Little Wren Farm’s raw honey bottled in a 16-ounce, old-fashioned glass Muth jar and sealed with a cork and our own natural beeswax. These embossed jars make a wonderful gift and are a reproduction of the first jar used specifically for honey and popularized by Charles Muth, one of the largest honey sellers in the 1800’s.
All of our honey is produced by the honey bees at the Little Wren Farm apiary in western Massachusetts. To preserve the honey’s natural flavor and qualities, our honey has never been heated above temperatures naturally found in the hive and our honey is not filtered. This means that our honey contains all the things the bees put in it, including antioxidants, enzymes and pollen.
The 16 oz Muth jar is the largest of the three in the photograph and is approximately 7″ tall. (The other two Muth jars in the photo are our 4 oz. and 8 oz. Muth jars, and they are approximately 4.5″ and 5.5″ inches tall.)
A Word About Raw Honey: Raw honey has not been heated or filtered; it remains as close to what the bees created as possible, and raw honey naturally thickens and crystallizes over time. Many people prefer crystallized honey, but it does make it hard to remove from a Muth jar! If your honey crystallizes, you can place the sealed jar in a bowl of warm water and the heat will return the honey to liquid form.
